Abstract :
Purpoe To report two cae of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) tear following intravitreou ranibizumab injection for age-related macular degeneration (AMD)-aociated erou pigment epithelium detachment (PED). Deign Noncomparative cae erie. Method The chart of two patient who received intravitreou ranibizumab for AMD-aociated PED and developed RPE tear were reviewed. Fundu photography, fluorecein angiography and optical coherence tomography performed prior to injection and upon follow-up confirmed the diagnoi. Reult Two patient with erou PED and occult choroidal neovacularization aociated with AMD developed RPE tear within four week of injection with ranibizumab. Concluion RPE tear may complicate ranibizumab intravitreou injection for the treatment of AMD-aociated PED. Further tudie need be undertaken to determine whether thi complication may alo occur when treating choroidal neovacular membrane not aociated with PED and whether certain angiographic ubtype are more uceptible to thi complication.
