Vitreou Injection of Pegaptanib odium Triggering Allergic Reaction

Purpoe To report two cae of ytemic allergic repone aociated with vitreou adminitration of pegaptanib odium. Deign Obervational cae report. Method Two patient were treated for ytemic allergic reaction aociated with the adminitration of pegaptanib odium. Reult One patient developed a delayed and prolonged anaphylactoid reaction following adminitration of hi firt doe of intraocular pegaptanib odium. The econd patient received four injection of pegaptanib over the coure of ix month. He developed mild lip welling and prolonged urticarial rah following the firt injection, which ubided when pegaptanib wa upended. Concluion evere hyperenitivity reaction may occur in aociation with vitreou adminitration of pegaptanib odium and may be aociated with prolonged urticaria and angioedema. Elderly individual with comorbiditie are at higher rik for fatality from evere hyperenitivity reaction in the ambulatory etting. Phyician adminitering pegaptanib odium hould review emergency repone and airway procedure.
