Late pontaneou Haptic Diinertion From a Three-Piece Intraocular Len

Purpoe To report two cae of pontaneou, late-onet haptic diinertion from a three-piece poterior chamber intraocular len (IOL). Deign Interventional cae report. Method Two eye of two patient had uncomplicated phacoemulification and preented 16 and 20 year after urgery with pontaneou, nontraumatic haptic diinertion from a three-piece IOL. Reult In one cae, the diinerted haptic dilocated into the anterior chamber while the IOL optic-ingle haptic complex remained centered and upported within the capular bag. Cytoid macular edema wa preent, but reolved after removal of the diinerted haptic. In the econd cae, the diinerted haptic remained within the capular bag while the IOL optic dilocated into the anterior chamber. Removal of the IOL and exchange with a ulcu-fixated ingle piece IOL wa required. Concluion Nontraumatic haptic diinertion from a three-piece IOL i a rare long-term complication after phacoemulification.
