Abstract
Purpoe
To ae the viual outcome of childhood blepharokeratoconjunctiviti.
Deign
Retropective noncomparative cae erie.
Method
We reviewed viual acuity and corneal examination reult for 23 patient (mean age 19 ± 4 year, range, 11 to 26 year) who had healed more than three year previouly (up to 15 year).
Reult
The dieae involved 29 eye and wa unilateral in 17 children. Corneal equelae (neovacularization or car) involved 18 eye (62%) of 15 children (65%). Mean bet-corrected viual acuity wa 20/25 (range, 20/100 to 20/20). Bet-corrected viual acuity wa no more than 20/30 in even eye (24%) of even children (30%). Fifteen eye (52%) of 13 children (45%) had atigmatim of at leat 0.75 diopter attributable to corneal car.
Concluion
Corneal and viual equelae are frequent in childhood blepharokeratoconjunctiviti. Early diagnoi and pecific treatment are mandatory.
