Two Patient With the von zily Reaction: Herpetic Keratiti and Contralateral Retinal Necroi

Purpoe To preent two patient with prior unilateral, herpetic keratiti who developed acute retinal necroi (ARN) in the contralateral eye. Thee cae have noticeable imilaritie to the von zily reaction. Thi decribe the development of a contralateral retiniti ubequent to an anterior chamber injection of herpe implex viru (HV). Deign Interventional cae erie. Method Retropective chart and literature review. Reult The firt patient had neonatally acquired herpetic keratiti and developed ARN at age 21. Polymerae chain reaction of a vitreou biopy detected HV type-2 (HV-2). The econd patient wa clinically diagnoed with ARN contralateral to varicella zoter keratiti. A detailed literature earch located even prior cae report with a von zily reaction. Thee reembled our two cae except none had HV-2 or year of latency from keratiti to retiniti. Concluion Clinician need to be cognizant of the von zily reaction.
