Abstract :
Purpoe
Evaluate Humphrey viual field (VF) analyzer central 30-2 foveal threhold tet for bet-corrected viual acuity.
Deign
Conecutive cae erie.
Method
Both eye (n = 117) of 59 patient with dieaed and healthy eye preenting for VF analyi were evaluated to determine foveal threhold. Thi wa compared with uncorrected viual acuity converted to logMAR, determined by manifet refraction, or etimated from nellen viual acuity with pinhole.
Reult
Foveal threhold correlated with logMAR uncorrected viual acuity for right (P < .0001) and left eye (P < .0001) and logMAR bet-corrected viual acuity for right (P < .0001) and left eye (P < .0001). ixty-eight percent of eye with viual acuity <20/50 had foveal threhold of 0 to 30; 47% with viual acuity of >20/20 had foveal threhold better than 37.
Concluion
Foveal threhold meaurement appear to provide a reliable etimate of bet-corrected viual acuity. Thi method may uefully predict viual acuity in eye with poible nonorganic viual acuity lo.
