Abstract
Purpoe
To tudy 25-gauge clerotomy healing proce in vivo with ultraound biomicrocopy (UBM) in direct and oblique inciion.
Deign
Propective interventional cae erie report.
Method
At our intitution, we performed UBM tudie on 53 clerotomie during the firt 30 day after 25-gauge vitrectomy, looking for conjunctival bleb development, clerotomy healing ign, and vitreou incarceration in the wound.
Reult
Echographical healing ign were completed in 77% of patient by day 15 with no difference between direct and oblique clerotomie. By day 30, all but one clerotomy were cloed. Conjunctival bleb developed over 64% of direct clerotomie, and 25% of oblique (P = .0059), but all reolved pontaneouly by day 15. Vitreou incarceration appeared in 72% of clerotomie.
Concluion
Twenty-five gauge clerotomie heal by day 15 in mot cae with no difference between direct and oblique clerotomy contruction. Conjunctival bleb developed more frequently over direct than oblique clerotomie.
