Abstract :
Purpoe
To tudy the clinical characteritic of microrip of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) in polypoidal choroidal vaculopathy (PCV).
Deign
Retropective cae erie.
Method
For thi tudy, we retropectively reviewed 156 conecutive eye of 136 patient with PCV. The leion were examined with fluorecein angiography and indocyanine green angiography.
Reult
Of 156 eye with PCV, 11 (7.1%) had microrip of the RPE at the margin of the pigment epithelial detachment. In the early phae of fluorecein angiography, the microrip howed pinpoint leakage from the RPE, which increaed and pooled within the ubretinal pace in the late phae. Of the 11 eye with microrip, the rip diappeared in 10 eye (90.9%), and no eye developed RPE tear during follow-up. The mean duration from the firt detection of a microrip to reolution wa 3.0 ± 1.6 month.
Concluion
In eye with PCV, microrip of the RPE are not uncommon, but have minimal clinical relevance.
