Abstract :
Purpoe To evaluate the effectivene of a prototype tereocopic camera-baed viewing ytem (Digital Microurgical Worktation, three-dimenional (3D) Viion ytem, Irvine, California, UA) for anterior and poterior egment ophthalmic urgery. Deign Intitutional-baed propective tudy. Method Anterior and poterior egment urgeon performed deignated tandardized tak on porcine eye after training on prothetic platic eye. Reult Both anterior and poterior egment urgeon were able to complete tak requiring minimal or moderate tereocopic viewing. The reult indicate that the ytem provide improved ergonomic. Improvement in key viewing performance area would further enhance the value over a conventional operating microcope. Concluion The performance of the prototype ytem i not at par with the planned commercial ytem. With continued development of thi technology, the three- dimenional ytem may be a novel viewing ytem in ophthalmic urgery with improved ergonomic with repect to traditional microcopic viewing.
