Abstract :
Purpoe
To evaluate the diagnotic ability of tratu optical coherence tomography (OCT) with a normative databae to detect band atrophy (BA) of the optic nerve.
Deign
Cro-ectional tudy.
Method
tratuOCT retinal nerve fiber layer thickne can were obtained in 37 eye with BA and permanent temporal viual field defect and 37 healthy eye. The categorization of eye according to the normative databae of the intrument and enitivity and pecificity value were reported.
Reult
The average thickne parameter demontrated the highet enitivity for detection of abnormalitie in eye with BA, followed by the parameter related to the temporal and naal quadrant. Value of enitivity were relatively lower for the 30 degree egment.
Concluion
tratuOCT with a normative databae performed well in detecting retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) lo in eye with BA. Clinician hould be aware of poible detection failure in the 30 degree egmental analyi, particularly at the 3 o’clock meridian.
