Abstract :
Purpoe
To report data on the repone of previouly untreated trabimic amblyopia to pectacle correction.
Deign
Propective, interventional cae erie.
Method
Twelve patient with previouly untreated trabimic amblyopia were precribed pectacle and examined at five-week interval until viual acuity wa not improved from the prior viit.
Reult
Amblyopic eye acuity improved by 2 line or more from pectacle-corrected baeline acuity in nine of the 12 patient (75%), reolving in three (interocular difference ≤1 line). Mean change from baeline to maximum improvement wa 2.2 ± 1.8 line. Improvement continued for up to 25 week.
Concluion
Thee reult upport the uggetion from a prior tudy that trabimic amblyopia can improve and even reolve with pectacle correction alone. Larger tudie with concurrent control are needed to confirm or refute thee finding.
