Comparion of Autologou erum and Umbilical Cord erum Eye Drop for Dry Eye yndrome Original Reearch Article

Purpoe To compare the therapeutic effect between autologou erum and umbilical cord erum eye drop in the treatment of evere dry eye yndrome. Deign Propective cae-control tudy. Method Ninety-two eye of 48 patient with evere dry eye yndrome (34 eye of 17 patient with jögren yndrome and 58 eye of 31 patient with non-jögren yndrome) were treated with either 20% autologou erum (41 eye of 21 patient) or umbilical cord erum eye drop (51 eye of 27 patient). ymptom coring, corneal enitivity tet, tear film break-up time (BUT), chirmer tet, tear clearance rate (TCR), corneal fluorecein taining, and conjunctival impreion cytologic analyi were performed before and one month and two month after treatment. Reult Both autologou erum and umbilical erum treatment led to improvement in the ymptom core, tear film BUT, keratoepitheliopathy core, and impreion cytologic finding. ymptom and keratoepitheliopathy core were lower at one month (P = .03 and P = .12) and two month (P = .04 and .02) for thoe treated with umbilical cord erum compared with thoe treated with autologou erum. In jögren yndrome patient, goblet cell denity wa higher at two month of umbilical cord erum treatment compared with autologou erum treatment (P = .04). Concluion Umbilical cord erum eye drop were more effective in decreaing ymptom and keratoepitheliopathy in evere dry eye yndrome and increaing goblet cell denity in jögren yndrome compared with autologou erum eye drop.
