Comparion of Fibrin Glue and uture for Conjunctival Cloure in Par Plana Vitrectomy

Purpoe Evaluating whether fibrin glue caue le potoperative pain, dicomfort, and ick leave in conjunctival cloure following 20-gauge par plana vitrectomy than uture. Deign Retropective tudy. Method A quetionnaire wa ent in 2006 to 506 patient who underwent 20-gauge par plana vitrectomy in 2004 at Univerity Hopital, Leuven, Belgium. Potoperative pain, eye dicomfort, and ick leave duration were determined. Reult The patient in the glue group had a horter duration of eye redne (P = .0471), eye dicomfort (P = .0376), and ointment ue (P = .0105). The patient in the glue group ued le ointment (P = .0038), had horter ick leave with independent worker (P = .0292), and experienced le pain on the firt potoperative day after vitrectomy without cerclage (P = .0340). Concluion Fibrin glue caue le potoperative pain, dicomfort, and ick leave for cloure of conjunctival wound in 20-gauge par plana vitrectomy than uture, and therefore, appear in our hand to be a better alternative to uture.
