Autologou Plamin-Aited Vitrectomy for tage 5 Retinopathy of Prematurity: A Preliminary Trial

Purpoe To evaluate the efficacy of autologou plamin (AP)-aited vitrectomy for tage 5 retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Deign Interventional cae erie. Method ix conecutive eye of four children with tage 5 ROP were treated. The patient’ age at the urgery ranged from five to eight month after birth. Four eye howed cloed-cloed configuration and two eye howed open-open configuration. After lenectomy and diection of the anterior proliferative membrane, 0.03 to 0.22 International Unit (IU) of AP wa adminitrated into the vitreou cavity. After 15 to 30 minute of incubation, the proliferative membrane wa treated. Reult The proliferative membrane wa removed uccefully without iatrogenic retinal break. Complete reattachment of the poterior pole retina wa achieved in all ix eye (100%). No obviou complication wa oberved in the follow-up period, which ranged from 11 to 14 month. Concluion Thee reult ugget the benefit of AP in the vitrectomy for treatment of tage 5 ROP.
