Abstract :
Purpoe To ae the change in corneal hyterei (CH) a meaured by the Ocular Repone Analyzer (ORA; Reichert Ophthalmic Intrument, Buffalo, New York, UA) to decribe the influence of clear corneal cataract urgery on corneal vicoelatic propertie and intraocular preure (IOP) meaured by noncontact tonometry (NCT) and Goldmann applanation tonometry (GAT). Deign Retropective, interventional, comparative tudy. Method One hundred and one eye of 101 conecutive patient who underwent routine clear corneal cataract urgery were evaluated. CH, NCT, and central corneal thickne (CCT) were meaured by ORA before urgery and at potoperative day 1. A control group of 48 peudophakic eye (urgery >3 month previouly) wa included. Reult CCT increaed from 556.82 ± 32.5 μm before urgery to 580.26 ± 45.5 μm after urgery (P < .001; control, 555.16 ± 42.33 μm). Mean CH decreaed from 10.35 ± 2.5 mm Hg before urgery to 9.20 ± 1.9 mm Hg after urgery (P < .001; control, 10.47 ± 1.63 mm Hg). NCT value roe from 17.85 ± 3.8 mm Hg before urgery to 20.10 ± 6.3 mm Hg after urgery. GAT value were 14.85 ± 2.8 mm Hg before urgery and 15.24 ± 4.1 mm Hg after urgery (P = .52). There wa no ignificant difference of CCT or CH between the preoperative value and the value of the control group (CCT, P = .986; CH, P = .166), in contrat to the difference between potoperative value and the value of the control group (CCT, P = .005; CH, P = .031). Concluion At day 1 after clear corneal cataract urgery, CH i diminihed, wherea CCT i increaed ignificantly. Potoperative corneal edema lead to a change of corneal vicoelatic propertie, reulting in a lower damping capacity of the cornea. It i uppoed that GAT and NCT meaurement are ignificantly different becaue of potoperative change in vicoelatic propertie of the cornea.
