Abstract :
Purpoe To evaluate the technique, efficacy, and afety of poterior iri fixation of iri-claw intraocular len (IOL) implantation through a cleral tunnel inciion for aphakia correction. Deign Noncomparative, interventional cae erie. Method A econdary poterior iri fixation of the Artian iri-claw IOL (Ophthec BV, Groningen, The Netherland) wa implanted for aphakia correction in the author’ clinical practice. Uncorrected viual acuity, bet pectacle-corrected viual acuity (BCVA), atigmatim, manifet refraction, len poition, pigment diperion, and intraocular preure (IOP) were evaluated in 32 conecutive eye of 32 patient. Reult BCVA wa 20/40 or better in 28 eye (87.50%) during the mean follow-up time (nine month). Mean potoperative pherical equivalent wa −0.70 diopter (D; tandard deviation [D], 0.47 D) at ix month after urgery. Mean prediction error wa −0.13 D (D, 0.28 D), and mean abolute prediction error wa 0.26 D (D, 0.15 D). Preoperative mean atigmatim wa −1.08 D (D, 0.55 D; range, 0.0 to −2.0 D). At ix month after urgery, mean atigmatim wa −2.1 D (D, 0.81 D; range, −0.75 to −3.75 D). There wa no ignificant potoperative IOP increae. Len poition, evaluated by Oculu Pentacam (Pentacam 70700: Oculu, Wetzlar, Germany) and ultraound biomicrocopy [UBM] (Ophthalmic Technologie Inc, Toronto, Ontario, Canada), wa parallel to the iri plane. Concluion Poterior iri fixation of the iri-claw IOL implantation through a cleral tunnel inciion i a afe procedure and an effective option for aphakic eye without capule upport.
