Abstract :
Purpoe
To evaluate pathologic feature of the photoreceptor in myopic foveochii with the Fourier-domain optical coherence tomography (FD-OCT).
Deign
Obervational cae erie.
Method
eventeen eye of 15 patient with myopic foveochii (foveal detachment type, ix eye; foveochii type, 11 eye) were included. We oberved the photoreceptor inner and outer egment (I/O) and evaluated the morphologic tatu uing FD-OCT. Fundu photograph and time-domain OCT (TD-OCT) image alo were obtained.
Reult
I/O defect, which are uncommon in retinal detachment in eye with myopia, were een clearly in five eye (three eye [50%] with the foveal detachment type; two eye [18%] with the foveal chii type). Fundu photograph howed myopic chorioretinal atrophy in eight tudy eye (47%), including diffue atrophy in four eye (24%) and patchy atrophy in four eye (24%). The I/O defect on FD-OCT were accompanied by myopic chorioretinal atrophy in three (60%) of five eye.
Concluion
FD-OCT enable obervation of more detailed retinal tructure in thee myopic eye. The I/O defect may be pecific to, but are not rare, in myopic foveochii and may predict the potoperative viual recovery.
