Abstract :
Purpoe To invetigate in vivo corneal change in patient with bullou keratopathie before and after Decemet tripping with automated endothelial keratoplaty (DAEK) uing laer confocal microcopy. Deign ingle-center, propective, comparative clinical tudy. Method even patient (two men, five women; mean age, 68.9 year; range, 59 to 78) with bullou keratopathie who underwent DAEK enrolled in thi tudy. Laer confocal microcopy wa performed before and one, three, and ix month after DAEK. elected image were evaluated qualitatively and quantitatively for degree of haze and denity of depoit. Reult Preoperatively, corneal epithelial edema, ubepithelial haze, keratocyte in a honeycomb pattern, and tiny needle-haped material in the troma were oberved in all patient. After DAEK, ubepithelial haze, donor-recipient interface haze, and interface particle were oberved in all five meaurable cae; potoperative haze and particle decreaed tatitically ignificantly (P < .05) over follow-up. Concluion In vivo laer confocal microcopy i capable of identifying ubclinical corneal abnormality after DAEK with high reolution. Further tudie in a large number of patient and long-term follow-up after DAEK uing thi device are needed to fully undertand long-term corneal tromal change after DAEK and whether the preexiting corneal tromal pathologie are reverible.
