Abstract :
Purpoe To determine the change in corneal optical performance after poterior lamellar corneal tranplantation. Deign Retropective cae erie. Method The anterior egment in four eye of four patient who underwent Decemet tripping endothelial keratoplaty (DEK) with cataract extraction and intraocular len (IOL) implantation were imaged with the Viante anterior egment optical coherence tomography [OCT] (Carl Zei Meditec, Dublin, California, UA). The curvature of the poterior urface of the donor graft wa compared with that of the hot cornea, and corneal thickne wa meaured. Reult All eye had a hyperopic refractive error after urgery. The poterior corneal curvature after urgery wa more than that before urgery. Average preoperative keratometry wa 43.4 diopter (D), and after urgery, it wa 42.8 D uing keratometry. However, when the poturgical corneal power wa calculated uing the Gauian optic method, the average value wa 40.8 D. Concluion The addition of a donor corneal graft to the poterior urface of decompenated cornea may leen the effective optical power of the cornea and may have implication for IOL power calculation in thee eye.
