Abstract :
Purpoe
To compare high-definition (HD) pectral-domain optical coherence tomography [D-OCT] (Cirru HD-OCT; Carl Zei, Dublin, California, UA) with time-domain optical coherence tomography [TD-OCT] (tratu verion 4; Carl Zei) for imaging macula in patient of uveiti.
Deign
Interventional cae erie.
Method
Thirty conecutive patient (51 eye) with uveiti of variou caue with vitreou haze of 1+ or wore were treated in an intitutional etting. All patient had their vitreou haze graded and OCT can both on TD-OCT (tratu) and D-OCT (Cirru). Information obtained from Cirru OCT can wa compared with that obtained from tratu OCT can.
Reult
Overall, for all grade of media clarity, the macula wa interpreted a normal in 30 eye (58.8%) on tratu OCT and 26 eye (50.9%) on Cirru OCT and abnormal in 15 eye (29.4%) on tratu OCT and 24 eye (47.0%) on Cirru OCT, wherea poor can quality deterred any interpretation in ix eye (10.0%) on tratu OCT and only in one eye (1.8%) on Cirru OCT. Additional information on Cirru OCT could be obtained in nine (21.9%) of 41 eye with grade 1+ vitreou haze, ix (75%) of eight eye with grade 2+ vitreou haze, and one eye (50%) with vitreou haze of 3+.
Concluion
Our preliminary reult ugget that D Cirru HD-OCT ha an advantage over TD tratu OCT in uveitic eye by providing better identification of normal and pathologic tructure in patient with poor media clarity.
