Abstract :
Purpoe
To report a urgical technique and the reult of rectu mucle poterior Tenon fixation a an inactivation procedure for treatment of Duane yndrome, retrictive trabimu, and long-tanding paralytic trabimu, which conventionally require large rectu mucle receion.
Deign
Propective, interventional cae erie.
Method
Three eye in three Duane yndrome patient, one eye in one myopic trabimu fixu patient, one eye in one complete third nerve paly patient, and one eye in complete ixth nerve paly patient underwent rectu mucle inactivation by diinertion and poterior Tenon fixation of it inertion. The main outcome meaure were the potoperative eye poition in all patient, the preence of uphoot or downhoot on adduction, and, in Duane yndrome patient only, the height of the palpebral fiure.
Reult
In Duane yndrome patient, the uphoot and the downhoot were improved markedly, and the height of the palpebral fiure wa increaed on adduction after the operation a compared with before the operation; the other patient had improved ocular alignment after urgery.
Concluion
We believe that rectu mucle inactivation by fixation of it inertion to poterior Tenon i an effective and le invaive technique for achieving profound weakening of a rectu mucle compared with perioteal fixation of the rectu mucle.
