Abstract :
Purpoe
To invetigate the imaging capabilitie of anterior egment optical coherence tomography (A OCT) in microbial keratiti and to ae whether meaurement of the quantitative parameter, infiltrate thickne and corneal thickne, were poible.
Deign
Propective, noncomparative, obervational cae erie.
Method
The tudy wa conducted at a univerity hopital clinical etting. even patient (eye) with upected microbial keratiti underwent tandard clinical examination and treatment baed on lit-lamp clinical finding. A OCT canning wa performed on preentation and at two follow-up appointment. All can were carried out with the canning beam paing through the center of the infiltration and at a pecific meridian. Examination wa carried out by the ame operator.
Reult
Corneal infiltration wa imaged a a hyperreflective area in the corneal troma on high-reolution A OCT can. Retrocorneal pathologic feature and anterior chamber inflammatory cell could be imaged. Corneal and infiltrate thickne could be meaured with caliper in ix cae. In one cae, corneal and infiltrate thickne could not be meaured becaue of a thick inflammatory plaque attached to the endothelium. In thi cae, the width of the plaque wa meaured on erial can.
Concluion
A OCT imaging provide a range of parameter that can be ued to ae microbial keratiti and the treatment repone objectively.
