Abstract :
Purpoe
To evaluate the long-term rotational tability of taar toric intraocular len (IOL) implant from two week after cataract urgery until two week after laer poterior capulotomy.
Deign
Retropective interventional cae erie.
Method
One hundred and fifteen eye of 72 patient were implanted with taar toric IOL model AA4203TF and AA4203TL (taar urgical Co, Monrovia, California, UA) between November 1998 and November 2004. Forty-two (36.5%) of the 115 eye underwent laer capulotomy becaue of clinically ignificant poterior capule opacification. lit-lamp retroillumination photograph were obtained in 25 eye two week after cataract urgery and again two week after capulotomy to document IOL axi alignment.
Reult
The mean difference in axi alignment before and after poterior capulotomy wa 1.36 degree. In no cae did the axi change more than 5 degree. Thi amount i within the expected range of meaurement error uing a lit-lamp photographic technique for axi meaurement.
Concluion
There are no long-term change in taar toric IOL axi orientation beyond the two-week potoperative time point after cataract urgery. The rotational tability extend through laer poterior capulotomy.
