Abstract :
Two of these three texts are edited collections and the other a co-authored, published
policy report. In total, there are 35 contributions (and over 50 contributors)
contained in these texts because the Cohen et al. collection has 25 chapters
and the Petryna et al. anthology offers nine. All three publications make a
welcome addition to the growing field of study that might be called, ‘Pharmaceuticals
and Society’. I have already incorporated all three of them into various
reading lists and courses for which I am responsible. They are all ambitious in
their geographical scope – pitching their analysis literally at the global level.
The wide-ranging nature of these texts means that few readers will not find
some intellectual, practical, and/or policy-guiding riches among their pages.
Cohen et al. and Leach et al., in particular, are excellent mines of information.
