Abstract :
Roll call votes in parliaments may yield important insights into various aspects of political systems.
They may inform us on the apparent conflict lines in parliaments,1 the cohesion2 of party groups,3 the
representativeness of members of parliaments (MPs),4 etc. Thus, it is not surprising that studies using
roll call votes from parliaments at the national and supranational level have become more frequent.5
