Abstract :
T he colorimetric error depends on ‎the spectrophotometric ‎inaccuracy. In this paper, a new ‎method is introduced for ‎determining the relationship ‎between spectrophotometric error ‎and colorimetric inaccuracy. The ‎error propagation in colorimetric ‎parameter calculation is evaluated ‎using a linear relation between ‎variance of reflectance spectra and ‎CIE tristimulus values. This linear ‎formula calculates the variance of ‎CIE tristimulus values from the ‎variance of reflectance spectra ‎with sufficient accuracy. In ‎addition, the effect of illuminants ‎and standard colorimetric ‎observers on the error propagation ‎from spectral data into CIE ‎tristimulus values is studied using ‎the proposed relationship. The ‎results indicate that the effect of ‎illuminants is more than the effect ‎of standard observer. In addition, ‎the Standard deviation of CIE ‎tristimulus values depends on their ‎respective coefficients. ‎
