Abstract :
The synthesis of 4-thiazolidinones 4a-j in a good yields from the heterocyclization reaction of 2-(benzothiazol-2-ylthio)-Nʹ-benzylideneacetohydrazide 3a-j with SHCH2COOH in DMF in the presence of a catalytic amount of anhydrous ZnCl2 under microwave irradiation is described and compared with conventional synthesis methods.
