Abstract :
Twenty-four lentil (Lens culinaris Medikus) genotypes were evaluated at two locations Armenia and Iran During the experimentation seasons (2010/2011), using a randomized complete blocks design with three replicates, the genotypes were tested for variation, performance and suitability for growing under these stress (Autumn-sowing) and non-stress (spring -sown) environments. Mean performance of all traits except number of branches/plant, number of pod and content were higher under Autumn-sowing than under spring-sown conditions. The result of this experiment showed that during wet season, where the temperature was as low as -7.2oC in the Chenaran and -14.1oC in the Hrrazdan. Many entries have shown various degrees of tolerance at different growth stages, but only 7 genotypes, MLC47, MLC44, MLC17, MLC15, MLC69, MLC83 and MLC16 are the bests yielding and most winter hardy.
