Abstract :
Most of the research work has shown that homogeneous ad hoc networks have poor performance, connectivity and scalability. The feasibility of implementing Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) in HSN is simulated in this approach. It utilizes Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) by using pseudo-random polynomial function to design an energy efficient key management scheme for HSN. The work implements grid-based coordinate routing driven scheme in the proposed method. This routing driven scheme is highly adaptable for public key management scheme for HSN and compares the energy and throughput efficiency available in the network over time for different grid sizes. A test area network is divided into square-shaped grids of specified lengths. Highly charged battery powered sensor nodes are randomly placed in the area with a fixed source nodes and sink nodes. The source node starts flooding the sensor network with every coordinator node joining in the routing. This entire process continues until the network is partitioned and the connectivity between the source and the sink nodes is lost. The proposed method is compared with the existing routing techniques like AODV and DSR. Here, the comparison is done with respect to energy conservation and throughput.
