Human Development and Governance :Evidence from OPEC

Nowadays corruption became a very hard and serious obstacle to development. In this paper we examine the relation between governance and human development. Hence we use three main indicators of governance; Control of Corruption, Political Stability and Rule of Law during 2002 -2007 for 12 membersof OPEC. The results using a regression panel data analysis indicate that all three components of governance indicators have positive and significance effect on Human Development. Therefore policies for a better governance in these countries are suggested
