Abstract :
In this investigation the shear strength behavior of crushed stone reinforced concrete deep beams without shear reinforcement have been studied, for this purpose eleven reinforced crushed stone concrete deep beams were tested to study the effect of the parameters (l/d, a/d. fc` and maximum size of aggregate). The analysis of test results show that the ultimate shear stress decreases with increasing a/d ratio and maximum size of coarse aggregate, while it increases with increasing compressive strength of concrete. Based on data from literature, equations were proposed for predicting the ultimate shear stress of reinforced concrete deep beams without shear reinforcement, also an equation was proposed for these beams by strut - and - tie model, the proposed equations were compared with codes of practice and works of other researchers, the codes and the equations proposed by researchers underestimate the experimental shear stress of crushed stone concrete deep beams.
