Abstract
The genetic diversity among and within lupin species was well studied using different molecular markers. However the Moroccan lupin species were not previously approached. The aim of this study was to assess the genetic diversity between and within this Moroccan germplasm (Lupinus albus, L. angustifolius, L. cosentinii & L. luteus) using AFLP and ISSR markers. These markers were informative with a polymorphic information content PIC close to 1. A high similarity values were scored between the four species and also between the accessions of each species. However the domesticated L. albus and L. luteus revealed the highest similarity values. Interestingly a number of species-specific and accessions-specific markers were detected. Meanwhile the classification of the accessions basing on the Dice similarity index shows the grouping of accessions independently of there geographical origin. We particularly note the abundance of the (GA), (AG), (CA), (AC) and (GT) repeat motifs in the lupin genome. © 2010 Friends Science Publishers
