Abstract :
This research is done for calculating the effect of leachate compost application on growth of different species of trees in split plat plan and randomizes block design with three treatments and three replications during the three months. Landfill vegetation, which is normally arranged to prevent landfill cover erosion, may be damaged by the leachate irrigation. In this study, various types of plants that could tolerate leachate irrigation were investigated through batch study. Implantation of three different types of trees, P.orientalis, R.pseudacacia, R. pseudacacia. Var. pendula, had been examined under irrigation of various concentrations of leachate. Those plants were the salt-tolerant species that could grow on strong saline soil. The leachate had been irrigated on all plants twice a week for about 3 months. Consequently, the results suggest that each of three species could damage under irrigation by concentrated leachate, while irrigation by an optimum dilution of leachate can simulate growth for some species. The factors as pH and EC were not caused plant death. The most important cause of trees’s death might be at the result of high additional organic carbon contents, subsequently because of long oxygen deficiency in the soils due to microbial activities. According to lysimeter study, this may be due to producing landfill gas and can reduce plant growth. However, the trees were stronger with higher growth rate when they were irrigated with 10% and 20%of leachate. This may be due to irrigation of leachate which can improve soil qualities by providing optimal nutrients.
