Abstract :
ABSTRACT: This study aimed to study the relationships between personality traits and emotional intelligence and mental health of girls has been a student athlete. Method: The research employs descriptive-correlation method. Community to study the first semester all students enrolled in undergraduate school year 91-90 school physical education, Azad University Central Tehran formed. Random samplings of 40 cases were considered. In this study, a standard questionnaire, five big personality factors (BFI), Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire Times - Goldberg and Hillary and mental health questionnaire (GHQ) was used, to test the hypothesis test, Pearson correlation and multiple regression were used.Results: Results showed that task orientation was negatively correlated with emotional intelligence and other personality traits were positively correlated with these two variables. However, functional studies showed no significant correlation with mental health. Emotional intelligence and mental health among female athletes, there was a positive correlation.Conclusion: It seems the big five personality factors, coping and acceptance can only score of emotional intelligence in a way meaningful to predict up to 59% Percent are predicted. Of the five big personality factors, extraversion and mental irritation orientation can score up to 48% of mental health and mental health scores of emotional intelligence can predict up to 61%.
