  • Abstract
This study is conducted to determine the impacts of efficient synthetic concentrations of Kitosan and UV-C irradiation on maintaining quality traits and reducing post harvest putrescence of Asgarabad apricot cultivar. A factorial experiment based on completely randomized design was carried out at agricultural research center of West Azerbaijan province at 2010-11. UV-C irradiation treatments were radiated on Apricot fruits at three times 5, 10, 15 minutes as A factor and Kitosan was prepared at two concentrations of 0.5 and 1 v/v% as B factor. Analysis of variance for traits of fruit firmness, total soluble solids (TSS), titrable acids (TA) and acidity (pH) were significant differences (po.o5). Fruit firmness with 10 minutes of UV-C irradiation and 5 minutes of UV-C irradiation with Kitosan 1% concentration had the highest value (1.27Kg/F). TSS levels at 1% concentration of Kitosan and 5 minutes irradiation of UV-C with Kitosan 1% showed the Maximum level (21.2%). UV-C irradiation with 5 and 15 minutes company with Kitosan 1% showed the most amounts at 3th month storage (0.27g/ml) for Titrable acids (TA). Acidity (pH) was better (5.2) at 5 minutes UV-C irradiation and UV-C for 5 minutes with Kitosan 1% concentration.
