Abstract :
Purpose: The Purpose ofthis study is to investigate the effect ofmotivation-hygiene factors, i.e., salary, job security, working condition, promotion, challenging work on job selection. Method: This study is a casual research in nature. Multi -item measures were usedfor data collection. Findings: Result discovered that salary, job security and challenging work have positive and significant influence on job applicants to choose a job. Working condition andpromotion have shown no such influence on applicants. Implication: Before choosing ajob, Motivation - Hygiene factors undeniably work as influencingfactors to applicants. This research could help researchers andpractitioners in terms ofimproving the concept ofattracting large pool ofapplicants and also continuously working on management process. Value: The result of the study should be provided to managers to get an idea how these factors influence not only existing employees but also for applicants. They shouldwork on both hygienefactors and motivationfactors as these help in term ofretaining employees.
