Abstract :
ABSTRACT: In order to investigation of genetic diversity of seventeen populations of Aegilops cylindrica collected from northwest of Iran, high- and low molecular weight glutenin subunits was fractionated using sodium dodecylsulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The results indicated that there is not any genetic variation in the HMW regions among the populations. Concerning LMW subunits in the B region, the highest amount of variation was observed in the Ahar population and lowest one in the Shabestar1, Moghan and Namin populations. For the C region, the highest and lowest variation was belonged to Malekan and Moghan populations with 0.1875 value and to Horand, Ahar, Shabestar1, Shabestar2, Ardabil, Marand, Maku, Karkag and Anbaran populations with 0.0625 value, respectively. The highest and lowest variation for all loci was pertained to Meshkinshahr population with 0.0978 and Shabestar1 population with 0.0163 values, respectively. The results of cluster analysis using complete linkage method, were also divided populations into three separated groups and indicated, genetic diversity does not follow from geographical distribution.
