Abstract :
Embedded Systems play a key role to drive the technological evolution. A key issue is to translate system knowledge and competences into complex embedded systems. Creating an embedded computer system which meets its performance, cost, and design time goals is a hardware-software co-design.
Embedded controller is implemented for reactive real time applications as mixed hardware software system. Hardware Software co-design system involves Specification, Modeling, Design space exploration and partitioning, synthesis and optimization, Validation, and Implementation.
The main aim of the co-design is to design a whole system without excessive preliminary constraints on the mapping or partitioning. Basically we can define “Meeting System level objectives by exploiting the synergism of hardware and software through their concurrent design”.
This paper presents a co-design approach and roles of hardware software co-design in Embedded System and Hardware Software Co-design process is used to design a whole system without excessive preliminary constraints on the mapping or partitioning.
