Abstract
The main aim of the recent study was to examine the effect of a selected plan of aerobic physical fitness exercises on male guidance studentsʹ mental health, subscales of physical symptoms, anxiety, social functioning and depression. This research in experimental and survey method was performed in Torkamanchai city. Mental health variable was evaluated using 28 general health questionnaire (GHQ -28).The validation coefficient of questionnaire was estimated 95% by using coefficient alpha test. Statistical society was 434 people. In first phase 200 students with simple randomly sampling selected and answered GHQ, then 50 people with psychological problems were randomly chosen and assigned in the two groups: The test (n=25) and the control (n=25) groups. Test group participated at 8 week physical fitness program, intensity 60-80% heart rate reserve, 3 times per week, 30 minutes per session. In this period, control group hadnʹt any training. Finally two groups answered the same questions again. The SPSS was used for data analysis. According to results, a selected aerobic trainings of physical fitness plan had a significant effect on mental health, subscales of physical symptoms, anxiety, social functioning and depression.
