Abstract :
ABSTRACT: 29 local masses spinach and common varieties gathered from Mazandaran and Esfahan province with one treatment from gene bank was conducted to study in the research station of agricultural Gharakheil and Esfahan with completely randomized blocks of three replications in 2010. Results showed these treatment have difference significant in point of many of evaluation characters .The results showed that the yields were variable from 18.69 until 32.38 ton/ha. Leafy Varamin 88 spinach and farahabad (sari ) spinach have the highest and less yield respectively. The morphology characters were about, width of leaf , length of leaf , length of petiole, form of surface of leaf, shape of leaf and number of leaf . The results of research showed that landrace of spinach are of high variations , and can be used as valuable genetic resources of breeding programs . The landrace of number 17 ( gathering from babol ) was better that others, and indicated as hope giving landrace and accomplish for providing population progress by purification . Also, the landrace and common varieties spinach were classified into 2 clusters in two locations , Mazandaran and Esfahan. The aim of this study was to investigate the genetic diversity of Iranian spinach masses of morphological characteristics and genetic reserves are grouped. The results of this research showed that native landraces of Iranian spinach are of high variations, and can used as valuable genetic resources for breeding programs.
