Abstract :
In the aim of enhancing the paper mill sludge in construction, we propose in this article presents a mineralogical analysis of the impact of incineration conditions of paper mill sludge on its compatibility with the portland cement. Thus, the characterization of physicochemical properties of sludge charred by ICP-AES (optical emission spectrometry), ICP-MS (mass spectrometry) and XRD (Analysis by X-ray diffraction) showed that when the calcination temperature in located between 650 ° C and 750 ° C, there is a total destruction of organic matter and the kaolinite disappears. The metakaolin take place instead in addition to a slight decarbonation of calcite. The mineralogical composition of residual ash, lets us sense that these thermal conditions allow us to have products at the better pozzolanic activity.
