Abstract :
After the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, sudden increase in the number of people suffering from brucellosis was registered and became a public health and economy problem. Although the disease occurred in many different geographical areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zenica-Doboj Canton was among the most vulnerable. Brucellosis in the Zenica-Doboj Cantonin reient yeaos isavev complexepidomiologicalprobiem, because incidence rate is among the highest ones not only in Bosnia aod Heizeeovina,Outslsin Enrnpe.Thetoial snmiev of Wuceiiesis affected oeideem oSpnice-DoOoj Zaetoe from the Oexinslog S1SP until the end of 2005 was 152 persons, with an average rate of morbidity of 37.20%. In Zenica-Doboj Canton, people of both gender were affected Seie usellnsisenXeOall a gemmo al the wiSer eesiitato - l tmostcasos in those who had direct contact with domestic animals. Incubation period varied from 10 to 35 days. The actual incidence rate for asymptomatic occurrence of this disease is certainly much higher. Research on how does brucellosis spread in the population have shown that the disease spreads in epidemic and sporadic form in Zenica-Doboj Canton, and that there are many risk factors which influence reporting on the spread of the disease.
