Abstract :
Particulate filled polymer composites are becoming attractive because of their wide applications and low cost. The purpose of this study was to prepare polymeric composite materials with different contents of Lithium Fluoride (LiF) and to search the influence of filler LiF on electrical properties of these materials. Composites of Poly (methylmethacrylate) PMMA polymer with varying concentration (0, 10, 20, 30, and 40 weight %) of LiF were prepared by using hot pressed method. Electrical conductivity of pure poly (methylmethacrylate) PMMA and the effect of variation of concentration of filler LiF on the PMMA-LiF composites was studied experimentally and theoretically. Experimental results indicate that increase concentration of filler LiF led to increase the D.C. electrical conductivity, and this was illustrated theoretically by taking fitting curve for conductivity- temperature curves using “Table Curve 2D, version 5.01” program. Also, the activation energy was calculated and varied inversely with concentration of filler LiF doped PMMA- LiF composite.
