Abstract :
ABSTRACT: The poor synchronized germination and seedling establishment is the main limitation factor in adopting of rice seedlings in paddy fields. Seed priming was define as the better crop stand technique, The main purpose of this study was to evaluation the effectiveness of different seed priming on seed and seedling parameters of rice cultivars. Seed priming consisted of osmopriming by PEG and NaCl in different levels. Based on response of genotype to treatments they classified into 3 classes by clustering analysis. After selection the indicators from each cluster the results were analyzed by ANOVA. The analysis of variance indicated that priming and media levels significantly affected germination attributes of rice cultivars. In addition, representative genotypes differently affected by priming media. The highest germination rate and percentage and radicle length cultivar was recorded in Tarom with KNO3 1.5% priming (88.72 and 12.2 respectively). Also maximum total dry weight was recorded for tarom cultivar with 8.77gr by KNO3 1.5% osmopriming. Good responses of two mentioned cultivars to osmopriming could be derived from it’s adaptively to environmental condition. Generally, the results indicated that osmopriming with studied substance mainly KNO3 could improve seed and seedlings parameters of rice genotypes.
