Abstract
ABSTRACT: Baby corn (Zea mays L.) is a popular Asian vegetable that can be consumed cooked or raw due to its sweet and succulent taste. Previous studies conducted in the region identified corn hybrids and open pollinated varieties (OPVs) that could be suitable for baby corn production, but we do not have any baby corn variety in Iran. This experiment was conducted to investigate the “effects of variety and plant density on yield and yield component of corn varieties at the Khorasan Razavi Agriculture and Natural Resources Research Center (KANRRC), Mashhad, IRAN on 2010. In this study three plant densities (75,000 115,000 and 155,000 plants/ha) and 3 corn varieties (KSC403su, KSC600 and KSC704) were evaluated as factorial experiments based on RCBD with 3 replications.
