Abstract :
Seed yield (per plant and per decar) and seed yield index efficiency (seed yield per fruit weight) as well as
some seed quality parameters (as protein and oil content) of ten naked-seed pumpkin lines developed by selection
breeding were investigated. The highest seed yield were obtained from breeding line “7”, and the lines “1” and “2”
were also remarkable by the seed yield; lines “3”, “9” and “23” were placed at the last group from the aspect of seed
yield. For the seed yield index (seed weight/fruit weight), lines “5” and “7”; for seed yield per fruit and seed yield
per plant, line “7”; for oil rate, lines “1”, “10”, “16” and “23” were the outstanding ones. No difference was observed
among the breeding lines in protein ratio, germination percentage and thousand-seed weight.
