Abstract :
To study the effect of seed size on germination (Triticum aestivum L) varieties Gascogne including germination percent, speed of germination, shoot elongation and root growth experiment in a CRD design in controlled conditions of light and temperature carried out. In this experiment, the diameter of the seed consists of five 2.2 - 2, 2.4- 2.2, 2.6- 2.4, 2.8- 2.6 and 2.8 < mm were tested in three replications. The results showed that the diameter effect on seed germination, shoot growth and root growth is not significant. Diameter effect on seed germination rate was statistically significant at the one percent level. The highest germination rate in seeds with a diameter of 4.2 - 2 mm, respectively.
