Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to give a negative answer to Problem 5 and a positive answer (in the case of homogeneous elements) to Problem 4 of the article of J. Dixmier [Bull. Soc. Math. France 96 (1968) 209–242] on the first Weyl algebra.
