Cocycle Deformations of Coordinate Rings of Quantum Matrices Original Research Article

A negative answer is given to the natural question whether imageq(GL(n)) the coordinate ring of quantum GL(n) is a cocycle deformation of image(GL(n)). It is shown that this occurs only ifq = ± 1. The main results are expressed more generally in terms of two-parameter quantizations imageα, β(M(n)).
