Acknowledging the Contribution of Referees

As ever, International Journal of Management Reviews could not function without the selfless support of a large number of referees who give their time freely to the Journal to help maintain the quality of papers. Selecting referees is sometimes the hardest part of managing the review process, and we are very grateful to those who respond quickly to our emails, and who take on the task, sometimes at short notice and with tight deadlines.You have helped us to reduce the time to first review decision for a paper to an average of 9 weeks, which is welcome both to the editorial board and authors, who are under increasing pressure for timely publication of their research. For those of you who have not reviewed for the journal, but would like to do so, you can easily register as a reviewer through the IJMR portal at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/ijmr. We should like to formally thank those listed below who provided reviews for the journal in 2010. Many of the reviews we received over the year were excellent and provided authors with clear and perceptive guidance on how to develop their papers. However, we would also like to acknowledge specifically the outstanding contributions by a few referees who provided truly excellent reviews over the period, and whose insightful and supportive feedback helped the authors to improve their papers substantially. In consultation with the editorial board, these reviewers – Stephen Fixson, Steven Lui and Nader Chokr – were included in a shortlist for reviewer of the year. However, in recognition of his thorough, helpful and perceptive comments, we have selected Dermot Breslin as reviewer of the year for 2010. Thank you for your continued support of the journal.
